I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of South Africa’s escalating unemployment, pervasive poverty, and crippling inflation on our communities. It was this urgent reality that compelled me to establish Siyabona.

 

The name itself, “Siyabona,” meaning “we see,” is more than just a word; it’s the very foundation of our mission. It signifies our commitment to truly see and acknowledge the struggles of impoverished communities that have long been overlooked and systematically disadvantaged.

These communities face immense challenges daily, from a lack of consistent food security to limited access to sustainable income opportunities. We recognized the pressing need for an initiative that doesn’t just offer temporary relief but fosters genuine empowerment. Through Siyabona, we aim to provide the tools and resources necessary for self-sufficiency, restoring hope and building a path towards a more secure and prosperous future for those who need it most.
